Drawing inspiration from global alternative games festivals, the Playtopia event dedicated to games and interactive art, takes place from Friday December 8 to Saturday December 9 at the Homecoming Centre in District Six, from 10am to 10pm.
Playtopia aims to honour South Africa’s game development and immersive arts community, fostering inspiration for the upcoming generation of innovators, players and enthusiasts.
The two-day event will offer attendees the opportunity to immerse themselves in local and international indie games; talks and panel discussions conducted by renowned international and local experts in the realm of indie game development; exhibitions by prominent South African interactive artists; alternative, artistic, and party games; a dedicated Super Friendship Arcade room showcasing games played with custom controllers, VR rooms, and more.
Playtopia will close the festival on Saturday evening with an official after party at Tommy’s Chop Shop, hosted by Diskotekah. For the full line-up and tickets, visit https://playtopiafestival.co.za
