What happens when two sets of parents get together to sort out an altercation between their 11-year-old sons that involved a stick and a broken tooth? Do they resolve things in a mature and adult way? Well they try to, but their attempts at a civilised discussion fail dismally as decorum flies out the window and primal self-preservation kicks in.
And so we have God of Carnage, which opens at the Masque Theatre, Muizenberg, on Wednesday June 22.
This fast and furious comedy is both brutal and hilarious and is performed by a cast of highly talented actors – Brian Notcutt, Ceridwen Morris, Kirsty Cunnington and Patrick Jordi – who bring to life the well-meaning parents we can so readily identify with.
The Tony Award winning play is directed by Coleen van Staden for Circle Productions and produced by special arrangement with Sam-uel French Ltd.
Five performances only at the Masque Theatre, Muizenberg, from Wednesday June 22 to Saturday June 25, at 8pm on week nights and 2.30pm and 6.30pm on Saturday. Tickets are R80. Call 021 788 1898 or email bookings@ masquetheatre.co.za to book.
