The Masque Theatre’s year-end production Sleeping Beauty runs from Friday December 9 to Friday December 23 and again from Thursday January 5 to Sunday January 15.
In this wacky take on a classic fairy tale at the Muizenberg theatre, three fairies are tasked with keeping the princess safe and have to find just the right person to bring the kingdom back to life.
Faeron Wheeler has adapted the fairy tale and written the script, and also sits in the director’s chair.
The show promises foot-stomping numbers from Mango Groove’s Special Star to The Greatest Show from the film starring Hugh Jackman.
Performances are at 8pm during the week; 2.30pm and 6.30pm on Saturdays; and 2.30pm on Sundays.
There will be a fairy parade at all matinees. Children in the audience will be invited up on to stage to meet the fairies and prince and princess and dressing up is welcomed. Tickets cost from R100 to R120. Book through Quicket.
