The organisers of Saturday’s Cape Town in Concert live streaming show held at Penny Lane Studios, in Ottery, described the event as a huge success with 5 000 tickets sold and 12 000 views recorded by the time it went offline, just before midnight on Monday August 10. The show was held to highlight gender-based violence (GBV), to offer artists a platform to perform under the current lockdown situation and to give music fans a virtual “night out” .The main beneficiery of Saturday’s show is Cape Mental Health.
