Margi Hull, Fish Hoek
I was walking on the beach this morning (Saturday June 4) near the pavilion when I saw a group of men in long white robes dragging and dunking a live sheep in the sea.
They then dragged the terrified animal out of the water by carrying it upside down holding it by the legs and proceeded to carry it behind the pavilion.
I don’t know what happened after that as I ran to the nearest coffee shop and phoned the Muizenberg police, who said they would send someone to investigate.
This was about 9.15am and there were many people on the beach who saw it happening.
There must be a law against this sort of cruel treatment of an animal? I have also reported it to the SPCA.
