Celebrating 100 years

Former Fish Hoek resident Sybil Ferguson recently celebrated her 100th birthday with a group of family and friends in the Methodist Church in Fish Hoek. Born on August 22, 1923 in Pretoria, Ms Ferguson went on to live many years in the then Northern Transvaal. She moved to Fish Hoek in 1993 and was an active tennis player at the Fish Hoek Tennis Club until she was 89. She was also a member of various bridge clubs until the age of 95. She was a member of the Methodist Church and participated in many outreach projects. She moved to Sunnyside Lodge in Plumstead during lockdown. The secret to longevity, she said, is “a little bit of everything, always”.
