The Wavescape Art Board Project has been raising awareness and funds for ocean charities since 2005. They invite artists to turn surfboards into art for an exhibition and auction.
This year, comedian Nik Rabinowitz will run the auction at Tiger’s Milk in Muizenberg for some fund-raising, fun and frivolity on Tuesday November 29. Doors open 7pm. The auction starts 8pm, although Nik will no doubt do some comedy first.
Proceeds go to the NSRI, Shark Spotters and Waves For Change. Artists include Lionel Smit, Brett Murray, Jake Aikman, Jenne Barabe and Steve Spike. The boards are being exhibited at Tiger’s Milk.
