The Kommetjie Road upgrade project team would like to inform road users that construction work is to commence this week on Noordhoek Road between Ou Kaapse Weg and Houmoed Avenue.
Initial work will entail setting up the necessary traffic accommodation and speed reduction signage which will allow Martin & East to remove the three traffic islands along this section of roadway.
The traffic signal and pole on the median island at the Ou Kaapse Weg intersection will also be removed. Once these have been removed and a temporary road surface installed, additional signage and temporary chevrons will be placed along the northern edge.
This will allow the installation of stormwater pipes and cable ducts. Lane widths along this section of roadway will be reduced to ensure that safe working space is provided. Pedestrian movement will be accommodated along the southern side of Noordhoek Road between Ou Kaapse Weg and Houmoed Avenue.
Vehicular access to properties will be maintained at all times.
