Contractor to work on water mains

The City of Cape Town has appointed a contractor to carry out rehabilitation work on the water mains in the Fish Hoek area.

The contractor will be working on properties in First, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Avenues in Fish Hoek.
Mayoral committee members for transport Felicity Purchase said it would be necessary occasionally to cut off the water supply
for short periods on certain days between
8am and 5pm.
The work is expected to last about three
months and should be done by November.
The temporary inconvenience was
unavoidable, Ms Purchase said.
“Your cooperation and assistance would
be greatly appreciated as this work may be
regarded as safeguarding the efficiency of
supply to all residents for the future.”
Ms Purchase advised residents to store
sufficient water for domestic consumption
in clean sealed containers.
