A 56-year-old woman was robbed at knifepoint of cash, her cellphone and bicycle valued at R36 000, on Saturday March 3, while cycling in Clovelly.
Police spokesman, Warrant Officer Peter Middelton said she had been travelling on a pathway through the Clovelly Golf Course/Wetlands towards Ou Kaapse Weg when a man jumped from the bushes with a knife and threatened to kill her if she refused to hand over her belongings.
The suspect was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants and is unknown to the victim. She sustained no injuries.
Warrant Officer Middelton said the track area was a gravel track used by cyclists between Clovelly and Noordhoek/Silvermine.
It’s not a public through way hence the lack of traffic on the route.
The matter is being investigated. Anyone with information can call Sergeant Steenkamp at 021 784 2700.
