The Clovelly Country Club was abuzz on Thursday November 30 as golfers supporting The Emma Animal Rescue Society (TEARS) fund-raiser teed off one after the other. They were warmly greeted by members and volunteers of Tears. The aim of the day was to raise much needed funds for approximately 300 animals in the shelter’s care as well as for animals in the impoverished communities they serve. There were some amazing prizes up for grabs which included goodie bags, raffle items and 15 auction items. Guest speaker for the evening, former cricketer and commentator, Robin Jackman had golfers in stitches with tales of his escapades in India. Tears co-founder and director, Marilyn Hoole said about R120 000 was raised during the day.
