John Dorrington, Fish Hoek
I write to you hoping that the City of Cape Town and the people of Fish Hoek will see to it that the lease of the Galley Restaurants will be renewed for the present owner.
The Galley on Fish Hoek Beach is an outstanding community asset which caters admirably for everyone, whether it is children getting an ice cream or people watching the rugby, having a meal or a snack. Everyone has a place in the sun at the Galley. This includes tourists from around the world, or locals.
It is very well and professionally run with wonderful friendly staff – with good food and reasonable prices.
The owner has made many contributions to local education and the life guards. I wish him well and hope his lease is renewed.
The Galley does not need upgrading or changing. It is perfect as it is and the City should not fix something that is not broken. Let the welfare of the people of Fish Hoek come to the fore.
