The Fish Hoek Ladies Choir gave a grand end-of-year performance at the Methodist Church on Sunday November 19. The choir presented the culmination of their year’s learning, in an afternoon of song. The music was a mixture of hymns and popular hits from musicals across the years, and they did beautiful renditions of the timeless pieces Killing me Softly, I knew him so well and Tears in Heaven. There were also musical interludes with performances by choir member Michael Greenwood on the piano, cello
and guitar. The choir includes a variety of songs in their yearly programmes – folk, classical and modern – to accommodate
all tastes, and each year they present concerts for the aged. They are led by Dr Beryl Ensor-Smith who dedicates her Friday mornings to conducting the choir. The choir is in need of more alto voices for next year. If you are interested call Beryl on 021 786 3969. PICTURES: KAREN KOTZE
