World Wildlife Fund (WWF) SA took part in a community project at Masakhane Educare Centre in Masiphumelele on Mandela Day, Monday July 18. Graduate interns from WWF’s Environmental Leaders Programme organised a group activity to create a food garden at the Masakhane Educare Centre for early childhood development. The educare centre feeds around 148 children. The WWF-SA team prepared the soil, planted vegetables and passed on sustainable gardening skills such as trench composting to encourage recycling and waste management. The interns and the children had fun as this photo of the children wearing masks of WWFs logo panda bears shows.
