Steenberg policeman Andrew Petersen, who started his career in SAPS almost 30 years ago as a Wynberg Magistrate’s Court orderly, was promoted to the rank of captain on Friday September 3, after holding the rank of warrant officer for 20 years.
“As a child growing up in Lavender Hill, I told myself that I want to be a policeman, not knowing that one day I will serve the very same community that I grew up in,” he said.
Steenberg station commander Colonel Jan Alexander congratulated Captain Petersen on is promotion.
“We hope he continues with his hard work and dedication when he takes up his new position as the operational Vispol support commander at Athlone SAPS,” he said.
