The False Bay Hospital needs two blood-warming machines to help resuscitate patients who are in shock and in need of blood transfusions.
The hospital, which sees about 3 500 patients a month at its 24-hour emergency centre, also needs five ICU portable beds.
A single blood-warming machine costs
R21 000 and a portable bed R10 000.
False Bay Association fund-raising coordinator Lloyd Sanderson is planning a raffle to raise money for the equipment.
He needs 50 prizes – dinner for two and one-night stays for two at a hotel or B&B in the Fish Hoek area and surrounds.
