The False Bay Hospital Trust, an independent fund-raising arm for the hospital, is now a registered lottery scheme with the National Lotteries Commission.
As from the end of January next year, the trust will hold a monthly lottery draw with a cash prize of R1 000.
Fund-raiser Jocelyn Freed said to qualify for this monthly draw, members of the public would need to sign up for a one-year membership, costing R50 a month. Members who donate more would get extra numbers for the monthly draw.
Members would be helping to improve public health-care at False Bay Hospital, Ms Freed said.
