Feast your eyes on kites of every colour, kind and size this upcoming weekend at Cape Mental Health’s annual Kite Festival. The two day event is immense fun for all ages as people gather from all over the world to paint our skies with colour and imagination. There will be free kite-making workshops for children and adults as well as live entertainment, rides, a free, supervised Toddler Zone and food market. Visitors are welcome to bring along a picnic. The Cape Town International Kite Festival happens on (and above) Zandvlei Nature Reserve, Muizenberg (corner Axminster and The Row). Open from 10am to 6pm daily, the event offers lots of parking and easy access by train (False Bay or Muizenberg stations). Entry is R40 (R15 for children 12 years and under).
