Knitting for a good cause

Grade 5 teacher Adele Nussey initiated a knitting project with her grade in answer to Star of the Sea’s celebrating the Year of Mercy in the Catholic Church as invoked by Pope Francis. The Grade 5s responded by knitting and producing blankets that they will be donating to a seniors’ home in Lavender Hill. They would like to knit enough for all the residents so would be grateful for donations of wool from Echo readers. Showing off completed blankets are, at back, from left, Jenna Martin, Paige Orgill, Kaylyn Matthews, Reece Ross, Jarred Brown, Michelle Mooka and Riley Le Fleur; and in front, from left, Saskia Fredericks, Lauren Williams, Tamia Henderson, Gosego Lebusho, Zoe Mostert, Ciyan Frieslaar and Cara Williams.
