The public is invited to find out more about the Masiphumelele informal trading market at an open day on Thursday June 8, from 3pm to 6pm, at the Masiphumelele community hall, in Myeza Street.
The informal trading plan for Masiphumelele was approved by the council in July last year.
The market will accommodate 66 trading opportunities to serve a variety of traders and will include trading bays, kiosks, toilets, an office, a meeting room, parking, and a refuse area.
Mayoral committee member for economic growth James Vos said the City wanted to create dignified and accessible trading spaces for traders and customers.
The open day is intended to encourage the Masiphumelele community to learn all about the trading plan and how the market space will affect them.
