Survivor of a violent gang rape, Cape Town local Lily Reed put the pieces of her life together through writing and will share her story of this devastating event at the launch of her book, The Dark Seed today, Thursday August 10, at the Mugg and Bean at the Longbeach Mall in Noordhoek from 5.30pm to 7pm.
“Who knows what joys, triumphs, losses and twists in the road life has in store for us. It is a mysterious journey. You have to roll with the punches and be grateful for the breaks it gives you. Take risks, love, laugh and live everyday like it’s your last. Not that it’s your last day to be alive, but it may be the last day you live, laugh and love the way you did yesterday,” she says.
Lily’s book is a compelling, real life story of her horrific rape; and the subsequent healing of her spirit. The book will take you on a journey of adventure, courage and insight into a very private world often ig-
nored and swept under the carpet.
