Lions club welcomes new president

Lions district governor Aidan Ewers inducted the new Fish Hoek Lions Club president, Brent Proctor, and two new Lions, Edgar and Yolande Magerman, on Monday June 27.

In addition, 12 appreciation certificates were presented to Lion club members, and Mr Ewers, immediate past president Ingrid Russell and Lion Annette Bothma received 100% attendance pins.

Ms Bothma was also awarded a trophy for outstanding performance as treasurer, and Mr Ewers received a trophy in recognition of his consistent contributions to the Hunger Global Cause.

Lion Ursula Williams was presented with a Louis Volks Humanitarian Award for her ongoing and outstanding community service in Ocean View.

Outgoing president Ms Russell was presented with a progressive Louis Volks award in recognition of dedicated and distinguished service.

Ms Russell said the Lions Club of Fish Hoek had served 32 400 people in need in the community and surrounds in the past year.

“We bid farewell to a super successful 2021/2022 fiscal year and look forward to the new year under the leadership and guidance of newly appointed Lion president, Brent Proctor,” said Ms Russell.
