Muizenberg SAPS celebrated Mandela Day with a morning visit to St James Roman Catholic School in Kalk Bay. The Women’s Network of the Muizenberg SAPS read stories and had talk time with the children and brought them gift bags of books and goodies for school. Captain Stephen Knapp spoke to the children about safety and showed them some self-defence moves. Then on Thesens Bridge in Muizenberg in the afternoon, the Muizenberg Craft Share group handed out their handmade gifts of warmth to passers-by. The craft group meets every Friday at Joon in Palmer Road and each year the group chooses to work towards donating their handiwork to a cause close to home. This year the group, for its 67 minutes, handed out scarves, beanies and biscuits to anyone walking over the bridge.
