The Ocean View Community Action Network (CAN) and Emergency Volunteer Support (EVS) participated in a street clean-up on Mandela Day on Saturday July 18. CAN volunteer Ramona Lamb said there are 60 soup kitchens in Ocean View and they were encouraged to invite children in the community to participate. The children who participated received a meal and some traets afterwards. CAN Ocean View, EVS and the Noorl Islam Mosque supplied soup packets for each kitchen as well as a meal for each volunteer.
