The 1st Fish Hoek Cub Pack learnt about the wealth of marine life in False Bay during a visit to The Save Our Seas Shark Education Centre, in Kalk Bay, at the weekend.

The centres facilities administrator Claire Metcalf answers the cubs questions as they explore a touch tank, which holds Mr Whiskers, a catfish (who isnt part of the touching experience), as well as starfish, sponges, sea urchin shells and more.
A little bit of rain doesnt keep cubs indoors, and clad in the centres ponchos – bright enough to be seen from low Earth orbit – the cubs, led by their Akela, Alistair Clacherty, explored the rock pools at the nearby Dalebrook marine sanctuary. It was a chance to spot some of the creatures Paul had spoken to them about earlier. Paul and Eleanor are seen with the group.
This colourful mosaic greeting visitors to the centre is made out of plastic bottle tops.
