Muizenberg police station welcomed its new station commander, Colonel Vassie Naidoo, on Monday December 31 last year after he was promoted to the rank of Colonel on Saturday December 1. Colonel Naidoo joined the police in 1984 and hails from KwaZulu-Natal. He said his vision for the station was to ensure a safe and secure policing precinct. He said building community-police partnerships was vital in fighting crime and urged the community to support their local police by joining neighbourhood watches and the community police forum and by providing information that could lead to arrests. “For a successful police service to exist, we need to have the community’s trust and work in partnership with all parties interested in making our area a safe and secure environment,” he said.
