Ocean View brothers turn on each other

A man was arrested after he stabbed his younger brother at the Ocean View police station on Wednesday April 25.

The two Ocean View brothers had turned on each other during an argument.

Police spokesman, Sergeant Leon Fortuin said the brothers came in arguing around 1.30pm.

The elder brother took out a knife and stabbed his younger brother in the back. The two then ran out of the police station but the younger brother collapsed in the police station parking lot.

Sergeant Fortuin said the elder brother was apprehended by police officers who were on duty.

It is unclear what the brothers were arguing about or why they had come to the police station.

Cape Medical Response (CMR) attended to the younger brother’s injuries while his brother was detained and charged with attempted murder.

“This office condemns the attack especially since the police station is declared a safe zone and the community should feel free of any danger whilst inside the police premises,” Sergeant Fortuin said.

The man was due to appear in the Simon’s Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday April 30.
