Just days before the school holidays, and an ensuing rush of little people, these pigeons at the Muizenberg public pools had the entire space to themselves for a spa bath deluxe. The birds gathered early in the morning for a communal chat and took turns dunking themselves thoroughly in the fountain, and drying off amid a great fluffing of feathers. They then flew heavily across to the nearest bank of soft green grass, to stretch out and doze, as they dried properly. Reporter KAREN KOTZE captured the feathered friends in action.
