Progress is being made in creating the Zandvlei Strandveld Circle in Promenade Road, Muizenberg.
The public can take part in open planting days
this week and on Friday September 25, between 2pm and 5pm (weather permitting).
All are welcome if they are feeling well and haven’t had recent contact
with anyone infected with Covid-19, although attendance will be at your own
risk.
Physical distancing will apply and face masks are compulsory. You will need your own spade (small or large), a hat, water, sunscreen and suitable gardening attire.
This is a collaboration between FynbosLIFE and the City of Cape Town.
Botanical ecologist Dr Caitlin von Witt is the managing director of Fynbos
LIFE(Fynbos Locally Indigenous Flora Education).
She says the Zand-
vlei Strandveld Circle will be a 1000m2 flower display that will feature indigenous strandveld plants.
