Police arrested a man in Ocean View for the illegal possession of a gun and ammunition after shots were fired in Leo Road on Sunday.
Police on patrol spotted three suspects matching the description of the men involved in the shooting.
According to Ocean View police spokesman, Sergeant Leon Fortuin, the suspects split up and ran when they saw the police vehicle, but officers caught one of them, a 40-year-old man from Parkwood, as he tried to climb a wall.
Police say the suspect was carrying a Ruger Magnum revolver loaded with four live rounds and two spent cartridges.
The man appeared in the Simon’s Town Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday January 21.

Ocean View police arrested the four men on Saturday, following the killing of the 34-year-old and 36-year-old.
A fifth suspect was held for questioning but later released, according to Sergeant Fortuin.
* A 34-year-old Ocean View man will spend 20 years behind bars after he was found guilty, in the Wynberg Regional Court, of murder.
Ricardo “Cardie Green Eyes” Titus handed himself over to police in February 2018 after the body of Carl Barendilla was found in an open field behind the police station in Ocean View. He had been shot in the chest.
Titus was identified by eyewitnesses. He told police where he had hidden the murder weapon.He was charged with murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
He was sentenced on Tuesday December 3.
Ocean View station commander Lieutenant Colonel Monwabisi Buzwayo welcomed the sentence.
“We hope the sentence will discourage lawlessness in all its forms,” he said.
