St Francis Church, Simon’s Town, will again host the evergreen Quarrymen Choir on Sunday November 13, at 6pm. The concert will again feature the young violinist, Jordan Brooks, Christy-Lyn Marais (Irish harp) and the Quarrymen Barbershop Quartet and is directed by Winsome Fourie with piano accompaniment by Dina Potgieter. As their name implies, the Quarrymen are hewn from the rock of the Glencairn quarry where they are based and where they practise. Their membership and extensive repertoire reflect the diverse cultures and traditions of the various communities of the Cape Peninsula. Tickets at R50 are available at AP Jones in Fish Hoek or Simon’s Town Pharmacy. They will also be available at the door on the night. Refreshments will be served in the hall following the concert.
