Construction work on the Kommetjie Road upgrade project recommenced last week and a portion of road between Houmoed Avenue and Montrose Close will be closed off soon to west-bound traffic in order to build a large water valve chamber in the roadway of Noordhoek Road, said mayoral committee member for transport and urban development, Felicity Purchase.
She said road markings would be altered and temporary road signs posted to advise motorists of the change. And, advance signs would inform motorists of alternative routes so as to avoid this section of Noordhoek Road between Houmoed Avenue and Ou Kaapseweg.
While the west-bound traffic is deviated the new road along this portion will also be constructed. The closure is expected to last for about three months.
