More than 500 far south residents made use of free health-care services offered by the Rotary Cape of Good Hope’s Family Health Days last week.
Rotarian Bev Frieslich said they kicked off on Tuesday October 3 in Red Hill informal settlement where more than 70 residents made use of the services.
She said, sadly the Health Day in Masiphumelele on Wednesday October 4 had to be cancelled due to an unexpected march and was rescheduled for today Thursday October 12.
She said the Health Day in Ocean View on Thursday October 5 was a fantastic day with about 400 registrations and eye screenings logged for the day. “The ready-made reading glasses were a big attraction,” she said.
On Friday October 6, Fish Hoek residents had the opportunity to visit the Catholic Church Hall in 6th Avenue for healthcare services and fruit were handed out to each visitor.
Ms Frieslich said the Rotary Club Cape of Good Hope wanted to thank all the management and staff of the organisations such as Living Hope, Cape Town City Health and the community clinics plus the Emergency Volunteer firefighting Services crew members (EVS) who worked so hard during the three days.
