The Rotary Club Cape of Good Hope inducted its new president, Susan O’Hagan Ward, on Tuesday July 5, during a ceremony at The Galley on Fish Hoek Beach. She takes over from Gillian Anderson.
Apart from Ms O’Hagan Ward, the new board comprises past president Ms Anderson, Irene Butterworth, Bev Frieslich, Kirtikant Patel, Peter Gray, Ray White, Marge Upfold, and Terry Spreeth.
Assistant governor and club secretary Ms Frieslich said that in the past year, the club had, among other things, helped abused women and children, created gardens to beautify Fish Hoek, and supported a school vegetable garden as well as various youth projects in the valley.
The induction was attended by district governor Tracey Wilson, district governor elect Ann Wright, and four past governors, Geraldine Nicol, June Webber, Carl Heinz, and Ian Robertson.
Mr Robertson presented Ms Frieslich with her fourth Paul Harris Sapphire pin, for service recognition.
