A second man has been arrested for the hijacking and murder of Scarborough surfer David Wolfromm.
According to provincial police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk, the 33-year-old man face charges of murder, kidnapping, malicious damage to property and defeating the ends of justice.Â
He will appear in the Simon’s Town Magistrate’s Court tomorrow Thursday May 23.
Mr Wolfromm was hijacked after a surf at Witsands on Wednesday May 8. His body was later found in the boot of his burnt-out Nissan XTrail on Slangkop Road, near Ocean View, at about 7pm.
Later that week, the first suspect, Wilson “Stoffel” Wilschut, 30, was arrested after police launched a manhunt for the suspects.Â
Mr Wilschut faces charges of murder, hijacking, malicious damage to property and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. He appeared in the Simon’s Town Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday May 21 where he abandoned his bail application.Â
He will be back in court in June.
