Teenage pregnancy has become a growing concern and hence it has become imperative to look into the various causes of teenage pregnancy in order to deal with this issue carefully.
Among these causes are a lack of parental guidance; exploitation by older men; adolescent sexual behaviour and a lack of awareness about safe sex.

Often teens do not have the knowledge needed to make informed and responsible decisions as to whether or not to engage in sexual activity that could alter their lives. This may be attributed to the fact that most of them may be embarrassed or fear to seek accurate and reliable information about safe sex.
As a result, these teens end up getting incorrect information from friends, videos, sitcoms and/or movies.
