Talking about food

Desi Angelis, of Muizenberg, left, and Greg Vittu, of Lakeside, took part in Food Dialogues, at Philippi Village, on Mandela Day, Monday 18, by weeding, making new vegetable-garden beds and planting granadilla plants. Food Dialogues is a two-week programme that addresses questions around food systems, and hosts a range of activities, from panel discussions to hands-on cooking classes for adults and children. The programme was launched on Mandela Day and will run until Monday August 1. After a hard day’s work, Ms Angelis and Mr Vittu shared a traditional tripe lunch prepared by members of the community.
