Last year, on our 49th anniversary, my husband Gene Mangion, had an accident in Kalk Bay by falling in middle of the road.
Well, believe it or not, he fell again in front of the Muizenberg post office (exactly one year later, our 50th wedding anniversary).
He uses a walker chair, and when he sat down on it, it collapsed causing the wheel to come off, and he hit his head on the frame of the post office door.
I rushed him to Medicross again where he had seven stitches put into the gash in his head.
I would like to publish my sincere thanks to the postmaster and staff, the security guard and others who came to his assistance.
As a result of this, I won’t celebrate any more anniversaries in a hurry (ha ha). Thank you very much.Â
