Ann Tilney, chairwoman, Fish Hoek Service
Centre
On behalf of the Fish Hoek Meals on Wheels Service Centre council and recipients, we would like to extend a very sincere thank you to the following people for their very generous contributions – either in goods received or monetary donations – towards our Christmas hamper drive.
They are: Grace and Jess, Ms G Brown, Ms EA Harrison, Roberta, Mary Shears Pottery, Serina Trading, Colleen Ross, S Wibberley, Chris Kaier and friends, Ann Tilney and friends, Pat and Martin Fiddler, Jean Polea, Paul and Eileen Mestern, Checkers Sun Valley Mall, Pick n Pay Fish Hoek and Food Lover’s Long Beach Mall.
There were also several anonymous donors.
We were able to give each recipient a special Christmas dinner, together with a hamper of treats, on Friday December 20, 2019.
We are a local NPO run by volunteers supplying meals
to residents in need
in our own commu-
nity.
We do not receive any external funding, nor are we part of the national Meals on Wheels organisation. It is only with the continued support of members of our community and businesses that this service is possible.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the dedicated volunteers who buy groceries, cook meals and deliver the meals to recipients, three times a week. There are in excess of 100 volunteers who give of their time to make this service possible.
A special thank you to Di Edwards, Lydia de Villiers, Charlene Anonsen, Barbara Raush and Alyson Coles for the very special Christmas dinner you prepared for all recipients. Thank you also to Cris and Carli – the Christmas elves – who packed all the hampers and helped to deliver them.
If you would like to contribute to this very worthy cause or join our group of volunteers please contact our secretary, Carin Chisnall, at c.chisnall@mweb.co.za for more information.
