Toasting the toastmasters

* Two Oceans Toastmasters celebrated 25 years with a black and silver-themed dinner at Café Soul in Kalk Bay last week. This club at the southernmost tip of the peninsula has done well and among the celebrants were the local branch’s Kay Price-Lindsay who won the district championships in 2012, enabling her to compete in the public speaking world champs; Reto Camichel who came second in the district championships in 2014; Devi Paulsen who was last year’s best PR in the district; and Verity Price who is current district champion for evaluations. The club officially chartered with 21 members on May 21 1991. Two Oceans is located in District 74, which is made up of 11 southern African countries. The club meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 6.45pm at Clovelly Country Club, in Clovelly.
