The University of the 3rd Age (U3A) False Bay ended the year on a high note with a special performance by singer, actress, and former TV presenter Judy Page, on Wednesday November 20.
Moon River, Fly Me to the Moon, La Vie en Rose and What a Wonderful World were among the songs Ms Page sang for about 200 people at the Fish Hoek civic centre, according to U3A member Laura Knight.
Ms Page’s career spans decades, with significant achievements in musical theatre, television, and cabaret. She has performed in iconic productions such as The Sound of Music, Chicago, Annie, and Hello Dolly, and had her own TV show.
Ms Page also reminisced about her life including her early years working in a bank in Bulawayo.
A particularly touching moment, Ms Knight said, was when Ms Page’s granddaughter, Courtney-Lynne Bowles, joined her on stage to sing, following in the footsteps of Ms Page’s own daughter, Kim Kallie, who had famously sung with her mother on the hit parade in the 1980s.
