Whale of a time

Rob Tarr is a local photographer, marine biologist and nature lover. He and his wife, Louise, were enjoying the clear weather on Saturday July 7, kayaking near the navy harbour wall, when a pair of humpback whales surfaced nearby. “We stopped paddling and enjoyed the spectacle. I always have my camera with me (in a waterproof bag) and managed to get a few decent images, using a 70 – 200mm zoom lens. I thought I’d share this one, as it has the new Harbour Bay complex as the background,” he said.
