I read with bemusement the letter by Leon de Villiers on his ideas on how to create employment, (“How to create employment,” Echo, January 30).
I will restrict myself to only the most fanciful one. He suggests building a tunnel through the mountain from Kalk Bay to Boyes Drive.
The cost of a mountain tunnel is about R10 billion per kilometre.
Who has this sort of money? Not the City, not the province, and certainly not the state.
Pure wishful thinking.
