There is a generation of children from the southern peninsula who are bustling entrepreneurs.
They are part of Linda Wilson’s Young Entrepreneur’s Pocket Money Market and they range in age and skill sets, but each are industriously creating their own products to sell.
Linda teaches them budgeting and marketing and guides their foray into the world of making money – complete with accounting sheets.
At the 23rd Cape Mental Health International Kite Festival on Saturday and Sunday October 28 and 29, the Pocket Money Market had their own tent and plied their trades with great professional enthusiasm.
Among the handmade products which ranged from good boy dog biscuits to massive bubble makers, seedlings planted in eggshells, jewellery and sweet treats were entertainers, among them, three children “buskers” from Masiphumlele who played violin and keyboards in the tent.
The Young Entrepreneur’s top entrepreneur of the day award went to Hannah Eyre who painted countless creative faces on the day; all funds she made are going towards her
