A piece of bread is in the road. What is it doing there? How did it get there? How did anything get anywhere? The bread was made by humans. It wouldn’t have been possible without the yeast, the flour and the water.
I think yeast is overlooked. I think a lot of things are overlooked. Think of the air we breathe – what it’s made of. Think of the plants, the fungi, all the things we overlook, take for granted or simply don’t notice at all. Life as we know it is quite bizarre when we think about it.
Humans are fascinating creatures to me. We have all these standards for what is normal or unusual, beautiful or ugly, and so many more. And it’s not as simple as that either. Humans have so many different opinions, needs and views on everything. There is not a single thing that all humans can agree on, yet we seem to think that all humans must behave the same way, “fit in” or at least live a life that other humans approve of and understand.
Are humans really so important, so much better than every other living organism or are we simply animals with a superiority complex?
Plants don’t destroy their homes or hurt their own kind, and they thrive on very little, yet they’re somehow less important.
