Jean Smythe, Fish Hoek
The Rotary Club Cape of Good Hope extends our most sincere condolences to Rose and the family of the late Herbie Forrester who died last week.
Herbie and Rose were well known to our Rotary Club for their willingness to organise wonderful, fun Trivial Pursuit evenings as fund-raisers, which were put to good use in the various Rotary projects in Fish Hoek and all the surrounding communities.
Herbie also very kindly took it upon himself to take a trailer of water to the Rotary Rockery in Quarry Road every week during the summer months when the plants were wilting in the heat, and thereby kept them alive to beautify the area.
He and Rose then created their own rockery further up Quarry Road, which is now a thriving, colourful garden, replacing an uninteresting corner site.
Herbie was a well-respected member of the Catholic Church in Fish Hoek and will be very sadly missed by many. RIP.
