Jacob Beute, Muizenberg
I refer to my letter, “What about makeshift shelter area”, in the Echo of September 29 about the Muizenberg to St James sea-walk railing and the homeless.
I noticed that the partially vandalised railing was temporarily cordoned off with tape and is now fully restored.
Further, for the safety of the users, I now notice beach constables on bicycles patrolling the sea walk and the khakied parks officers beat-walking there too.
Some time back, I even saw horse constables patrolling at Surfers Corner, all to everyone’s delight – love to see more of that.
I also notice less homeless activity among the bushes at the police station. Surely, our creator has never intended for anyone to be homeless.
Many thanks to our councillors and others who care.
