My normal water usage is about 10 kilolitres per month for our household, and it suddenly jumped to 16kl last month and a whopping 20kl this month.

I called in my plumber, who discovered that there was a water leak within the meter itself. I sent an email to water@capetown.gov.za. to tell them about the leaking water meter.

A young man from the council came around on Saturday October 7 to replace the water meter with a brand new one.

I had sent the email only on the day before.

So thank you, City of Cape Town, for great service and a quick response.
