James Ricketts, Fish Hoek
It’s with continued sadness, disappointment and frustration that I read of the plight of the vendors/traders at the Bayside Bazaar (“Bayside Bazaar traders evicted,” Echo April 1).
In my personal capacity (and as a member of the Fish Hoek Valley Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association) for about six months last year I tried in vain to coordinate with local interest groups, organisations, City consultants and City officials towards an inclusive and ultimately consensus-driven solution for the trading solution in Fish Hoek.
Until Fish Hoek residents, business owners and ratepayers stand and work together, we will continue to slide towards the state of lower Wynberg and such similarly neglected or worse, poorly managed areas.
