■ Thomas King from Kirstenhof, captain of the South African Stand Up Paddle (SUP) board team, which leaves for the ISA World Championships on Saturday, showed his supremacy over the weekend by winning all three disciplines at the Xpression Summer SUP event. Not only did he win the downwind race from Millers Point to Fish Hoek in extreme gale force wind conditions, but he went on to clean up in the technical race as well as the wave riding event. Thomas posted an almost perfect score of 18.9 out of a possible 20 in the men’s open final.
